We're looking for a mid-level to senior software engineer who enjoys building products quickly, working directly with users, and leveraging modern AI-assisted development workflows to dramatically accelerate software delivery.

This role is focused on building and evolving internal enterprise applications for an HVAC and construction-focused client. You'll sit directly with users and stakeholders, understand operational workflows firsthand, and rapidly turn ideas and pain points into working software.

We heavily leverage tools like OpenAI ChatGPT, Codex, and similar AI-assisted development platforms as a core part of our engineering workflow. We're looking for strong software engineers who are excited about the future of AI-assisted product development.

The environment is highly iterative, collaborative, and product-oriented. You'll help shape how applications look, function, and evolve over time while continuously improving workflows based on real-world feedback from end users.

What you'll do

Build and expand internal enterprise software applications
Rapidly prototype, iterate, and ship new functionality
Use AI-assisted development tools heavily throughout the engineering workflow
Work directly with users to understand workflows, operational challenges, and opportunities for improvement
Help shape product design, UX, and application functionality in real time
Automate repetitive workflows and business processes
Continuously improve applications based on direct user feedback
Partner closely with operational teams and leadership to identify high-impact opportunities
Contribute to technical architecture and long-term scalability of internal platforms

What we're looking for

4+ years of professional software engineering experience
Strong full-stack development experience
Comfortable working in fast-moving environments with evolving requirements
Experience using modern AI-assisted coding tools such as OpenAI ChatGPT, Codex, or similar platforms
Strong product intuition and ability to collaborate directly with end users
Ability to independently take ideas from concept to production
Comfortable operating with a high level of ownership and autonomy
Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred technical experience

TypeScript / JavaScript
React or modern frontend frameworks
Node.js or backend API development
SQL / Postgres
API integrations
Workflow automation systems
Cloud deployment and production application support

Engagement details

Initial 3-month contract engagement with potential extension
Fort Worth, TX
Minimum 4 days/week onsite
Mid-level to senior candidates considered based on experience and ability to operate independently
